What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work efficiently, to remember your choices, and to give the people who run them a clear picture of how the service is used.

02

How we use them

Across a library of more than 500,000 titles, cookies help us do a handful of specific things:

  • Keep you signed in and your library secure
  • Track your monthly credit and the titles you keep
  • Remember your language and playback preferences
  • Measure how the service is used, so we can improve it
  • Surface titles and offers likely to interest you
03

The types we set

Essential

Required for the service to work. They keep you signed in to your library, protect your account and credits, and make core features accessible.

Analytics

Help us understand how listeners discover and use the library, reported in aggregate so we can keep improving the experience.

Preference

Remember your choices — language, playback settings, and where you left off — so your library feels like yours from the first tap.

Marketing

Used to measure our campaigns and share titles with people likely to love them. Always optional.

04

Third-party cookies

Alongside our own, we rely on a small number of trusted partners for analytics, payments, and advertising measurement. These providers may set their own cookies on your device, governed by their respective privacy policies.

Staying in control

Most browsers let you manage cookies from their settings. You can:

  • Delete all cookies stored by your browser
  • Block cookies from being set at all
  • Ask your browser to prompt before accepting them
  • Remove specific cookies one at a time

Blocking or deleting cookies is entirely your choice — though it may limit some features, such as staying signed in to your library.
